1. I chose the word "Inclusion"
2. People being allowed to contribute and join in on projects and ideas. 3. passiton.com 4. The hashtag #passiton itself promotes inclusion. It allows everybody to be a part of the movement to pass peace and kindness on. Motto: Everyone needs to be in the know. (A lot of people don't know anything about automobiles and keeping the customer in the know can help prevent many scams and overpricing issues. It also promotes inclusion)

- Which statistic would you like to learn more about?
I would like to learn more about the statistic that 60 people speak over 6,500 languages. - Which statistic do you consider most surprising? Why? The statistic that I consider the most surprising is 14 people couldn't read or write. I kind of feel like I take reading and writing for granted and assumed that everybody could do it. - Which statistic do you think will affect generations to come the most? The statistic that I think will affect generations to come the most is that 1 person controls half of the money supply. Even today it's very clear that the wealthy control the world, but it will probably get worse in the future due to the continuation of making money. - Based on your discussions about the various teaching and learning styles in the video, how would you answer the question; what does learning look like?
Learning looks like a teacher helping students grasp a concept that they didn't know before. Teachers can change the way they teach to relate to students and their backgrounds, embrace individuality, and incorporate unusual teaching styles. Some teachers write on the board while others just say things out loud. It doesn't matter what the teaching style is, as long as the students actually grasp the concept and understand it. - What are the findings?
The quiz results say that I'm a visual learner. - What possible significance is there in the findings? This could mean that I learn better when I actually see how things are done. - Are there limitations to this research? There are some limitations to this research. The program doesn't know everything about me, so the answer isn't entirely specific. - Is there any possible bias in this research? There could by some bias as to how the program takes my answers and comes up with the result, but there's not much. - From the research, is there a problem that emerges? I wouldn't really consider myself a visual learner or an auditory learner, I feel like I learn equally well with either method. - Based on what discovered, what recommendations might there by for future research or study? Any field that you can be able to actually see. Automotive, drawing, etc. - When you consider the results of the survey in the previous activity, how do you as an individual relate? I do enjoy seeing specifically the things we're learning about, and it kind of helps me actually know what is going on. - Do you fall into the majority, regarding how YOU learn best? I don't think I do. I think most people learn better one way or the other, but I learn well in either situation. - Is this way you learn best often delivered in your class? It depends on the class, but usually not. Usually my teacher talks through the subject, but we can't physically see what it is we're talking about. For example, math can be explained as well as possible, but it takes a couple examples to really learn it. - Are there elements that you are uncomfortable with? For instance, you may be very uncomfortable in groups of two, or tend to lose attention in large groups. I generally find that I can work well in pretty much any group size. If I'm in a group with just me and a friend, it can be hard to get work done. - Finally, how does your preferred learning style lend itself to particular practices that are used in your career area? Learning how things work is generally a very visual thing. You physically pull things apart and learn about the parts each thing has. 1 - Would your parents and relatives be able to guess the top three learner attributes you chose at the beginning of this unit? What about your friends and neighbors? Why or why not? -
I feel like my parents and close family members would be able to guess my top three attributes, since they fit well with my personality. I think my friends would also be able to guess them too. I doubt my neighbors or extended family would be able to guess them since I don't keep good contact with them. 2 - Think of when you recently completed some work in a group. Were you more concerned with 'getting the job done' or 'making friends and allies and being friendly'? How would your fellow group member s describe your role in the group? I usually am more concerned with getting the job done in group work than making friends. I do care about being friendly to others, but I would rather have the work done in a timely manner instead of spending the entire time talking and being friendly. 3 - Perhaps one of the lessons from the locus of control activity is that one must often be careful not to be too internal or too external. Can you think of a role model whom you would describe as having a healthy way of assessing situations? Tell your group a bit about this person. How have you observed them react to things? What is their work? Specifically, how do you think their work is positively affected? One role model that I would say has a healthy way of assessing situations is my dad. He likes to fully look over a situation and all of the parts of it before making a decision. He can recognize when things were truly out of a person's control, but he generally thinks that people could have done other things to prevent an outcome. 4 - Above, you were given tasks to do in a group that involved professional etiquette (Task 1), teaching others (Task 2), and understanding diversity (Task 3). In what ways are each of these tasks related to your career studies. Each of these tasks deal with a part of what goes into a job. When you have a job, you need to have professional etiquette, you might have to teach others, and you'll probably have to deal with some diversity. These situations can help prepare you for a real job/workplace. TASK 1 - MANY CUSTOMER ENQUIRIES STILL INVOLVE PHONE CALLS. ONE MEMBER OF YOUR TEAM IS TO DEMONSTRATE MAKING A PHONE CALL AND WANTING TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. ANOTHER TEAM MEMBER SHOULD PORTRAY THE PERSON RECEIVING THE PHONE CALL AND RECORDING THE PERTINENT INFORMATION TO GIVE TO A SUPERVISOR. AT THE CONCLUSION OF THIS SCENARIO, YOUR GROUP SHOULD INDICATE WHICH LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES ARE DEMONSTRATED IN THE SCENARIO, AND HOW.
Communication was a large profile that was used during the scenario, since we had to communicate to the person calling, and we had to communicate to other people that were in the scenario. We also had to be principled in order to do the right thing in the scenario. TASK 2 - YOUR GROUP HAS BEEN INVITED TO THE LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. YOUR JOB IS TO CREATE A GAME THAT WILL TEACH A CLASS OF FOURTH GRADERS THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR CHOSEN LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE. EACH MEMBER OF YOUR GROUP MUST PLAY A PART IN THIS SCENARIO: Open-Minded. I created a game where one student sits on a chair/bench and tries to be as stubborn as possible. Different students come up and offer certain imaginary benefits, in order to attempt to get the student off of the bench/chair. Eventually the student will accept an offer and leave the bench for other students to sit on. This game will help teach students to keep an open mind of options. Instead of only having the bench, they could have many different offers. TASK 3 - SEVERAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE VISITING YOUR SCHOOL FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY. THEY WANT TO KNOW WHAT 'SCHOOL SPIRIT' MEANS. UNFORTUNATELY, NONE OF YOUR TEAM SPEAKS THEIR PRIMARY LANGUAGE AND THEY DO NOT SPEAK YOURS. DRAW A DESIGN, CREATE A MAP OR PORTRAY A SCENE THAT CAN COMMUNICATE WHAT 'SCHOOL SPIRIT' IS IN YOUR SCHOOL. AFTER THE REST OF YOUR CLASS VIEWS YOUR COMPLETED TASK, EXPLAIN HOW THE TEAM'S LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE WAS DEMONSTRATED, EITHER IN THE CREATION OF YOUR PROJECT OR IN THE DETAILS OF THE PROJECT ITSELF. |
